Burst pipes leave 200 without water in Vassalboro →
They received assistance from the Maine Rural Water Association circuit riders, who used leak detection equipment to find where the pipe broke. Robbins said they found a shut-off valve and stopped the water flow. The customer’s mobile home was not damaged because the burst pipes were underground.

According to a recent report by the Environmental Working Group, drinking water in Norman contains the highest level of chromium 6 in the United States, 12.9 parts per billion. Chromium 6 is a known carcinogen, but its relatively high level in Norman city water is unlikely to be a health problem.
